
A Funeral mass for Lynette Bush Pritchard, 88, will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Very Rev. Anthony McLaughlin JCD officiating. Burial is at Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Mrs. Pritchard passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 in Eastland.
She was born on June 10, 1922 in Mabank to the late James Wesley and Jewell Daphne Bush. Lynette was an only child and enjoyed the company of her friends and students of the Mabank Schools. She graduated with honors from Mabank High School in 1939 and attended Southern Methodist University where she earned her Master’s Degree in English. Lynette was voted president of Alpha Delta Pi social sorority and remained active with the alumnae association for many years thereafter.
On September 9, 1944 Lynette married William R. Pritchard Sr. of Mobile, Alabama, the original “Wing and a Prayer” warship pilot in World War II. Lynette was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Pritchard, Sr. and son, David Robert Pritchard.
She is survived by her seven children, William R. Pritchard Jr., Dr. James Bush Pritchard, Thomas Ross Pritchard, Joseph Delaney Pritchard, John Patrick Pritchard, Michael Dean Pritchard and daughter, Mary Ann Pritchard Rice and twelve grandchildren.
Rosary will be held at Lloyd James Funeral Home Friday, September 17th at 6:30 P.M. with a visitation from 6-8:00 P.M.
