

Sevices for Madelynn Aline Melton Shaver, 82 of Tyler will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at Lloyd James Funeral Home with Dr. David Dykes officiating. Interment was held at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery.
Madelynn, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed from this life on July 11, 2016 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
She was born on March 8, 1934 in Corsicana, Texas to George Melton and Eula Gray Shaw Melton. Madelynn attended Waco State High School where she was valedictorian of her class and attended North Texas University.
Madelynn worked beside her husband in the family business, Diamond Core Testco, Inc. as a bookkeeper for 50 years. She also owned a small clothing business, worked for Lake Ronel Oil Company and Tyler businessman G. C. Giles.
She was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church where she participated in Bible Studies, choir and as a Sunday School teacher. She had a special gift for helping and caring for people who were sick always providing meals for someone in need. Madelynn was the moral compass and backbone that led her family to Christ. She loved gardening, canning vegetables, fishing with her kids, barge rides, traveling with friends and most of all spending time and cooking for the family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Owen Dalton "Doc" Shaver; daughter Stacey Lynn Huffman; father George Melton; mother Eula Gray Shaw Melton Bowman; sisters Beverly Melton of Tyler and Margie Rust of San Antonio; and brother Bill Melton of Tyler.
She is survived by her loving family, including her son Scott Shaver and wife Shawnte' of Tyler; daughter Tana Roquemore and husband Larry of Whitehouse; son Charles Shaver of Euless; grandchildren, Lindsey Harrison and husband Michael, Claire Harwood and husband John, all of Tyler, Macy Middleton and husband Mayes of Houston, Sterling Stansbury and husband Hayden, Spencer Borah all of College Station, Summer Borah, Shafen Borah and Slater Borah all of Tyler, Dalton Anderson and wife Peggy, Del Roquemore and wife Loretta, David Roquemore and wife Laura, Paul Shaver and wife Heidi, John Shaver all of Arlington, Daniele Tucker and husband Jason of Keller, Nathalie Brownfield and husband Mike of McKinney; and many great-grandchildren.
