Ann at age 15, met Dale Whitton who was 21 as he was just home from the service. Her family moved to Houston for work. Dale, tired of trips to Houston, asked Ann to marry him. They married May 25, 1946 and the next day left on a bus to Tyler, where they spent the next 69 years. A year later their family expanded with Carol, then Sharon and then Jerry. As there was always room for more,, Regina came at age 6. Cecile lived across the street, but made herself at home for all family functions. Dale always called to bring a co-worker home for lunch. Ann just added another bean to the pot.
Ann was always learning new things. She was an excellent seamstress and made 12 or more Rose Queen gowns. She went to school and received her degree in Real Estate, opening her own business. Later she began a career in Real Estate Liquidations. In her spare time, Ann became a quilter, providing cover for her family.
Ann and Dale traveled all over the World. She loved all her adventures and all her family. Ann was the oldest, with four brothers. Two brothers preceded her in death, as well as her parents; a son, Jerry and grandson, Andrew.
Remaining family to honor her life are her children, Carol, Sharon, Regina and Cecile. Her grandkids. Lee. Matt, Jon, Brian, Robert, Ashley, Adam, Elisha and Alex. Great-grandkids are Bradley, Lindsey, Preston, Sarah, Lauren, Joe, Jack, Zack, Abbey, Brandon and Triston.
Mom loved all her children and was generous with her love.
