Long time resident of Tyler, Texas, Margie Marie B. Morrison was born in Corinth, Mississippi on February 21, 1924 and, peacefully passed away at the young age of 94 on Sunday, January 6, 2019. Family visitation will be held at Lloyd James Funeral Home in Tyler on Friday, January 11 from 5:30 -7:30 pm.
As a graduate of Gladewater High School, Margie continued her education at Kilgore Junior College. It was then she met the love of her life, Roy Wayne Morrison, and they married December 11, 1943. Margie's hardworking ethic and determination was evident as she moved up the ladder through Exxon Oil Company, retiring as Sr. Administrator after 42 years. She was a member of ExxonMobil Retirees Club and Gladewater Former Students Association. Margie was a long time member of Fairwood Methodist Church in Tyler.
Proceeding her in death were her parents William Roy Brewer and Ollie Mae Spear Brewer; sister Mary Harnist and husband Ellis; brother James Brewer and wife Barbara; nephew Kirk Brewer survived by wife Sally Brewer.
Mrs. Morrison was known for her loving and caring spirit; however, she was also known by her witty sense of humor. Margie was diligent in knowing how to play every game and succeeding in all. At the age of 94 the one game she realized she had not yet conquered was rock, paper, scissors and her nieces gladly obliged. She was an exceptional bowler and received many trophies. She believed in always paying it forward and gave to numerous charities and family members. No matter how old or young you were it was a given, if you were with Margie, it was a guaranteed a good time. Although she had no children of her own, much like the Old Woman in the Shoe, she was a mother to all of us. Her only regret in life was that she never became a general but little did she know she had been leading her family all along. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her brother Kelton Brewer and wife Beverly; nieces Kathryn Goerdel, Carla Brewer-Hanks and Patricia Fullingim; nephews Gary Harnist and wife Sharon, Ron Harnist and wife Jodi, Randy and Sterling Brewer; great nephews Brad Casey, Brandon Tuell, Cole Harper and Kelton Jr. Brewer; great nieces Haley and Lindsey Fullingim, Hannah Hanks, Kelci Harnist-Ezzell, Madison Harnist, Alixindra Harnist, Alyssa Harnist and Kandace Brewer; great-great nephews David James Casey, Karson and Bubba Brewer; great-great nieces Aliyah Casey and Ella Marie Fullingim. Margie is also survived by numerous life long friends.
