Marilyn Ann (Enright) Henault was born in Sioux City, Iowa to Michael and Dorothy (Bendinger) Enright on December 5, 1938. She left this world peacefully after a short illness on September 30, 2026 to join her beloved husband, Ken. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 bothers, and beloved daughter Nannette. She is survived by her children Carol, Kenneth Jr., Michelene, and Christine, 18 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and younger sister, Janet.
Marilyn was most proud of three things in her life: her incredibly happy marriage to Ken, her 5 beautiful children of whom she was so proud, and her Irish Heritage. When confronted with any pain or difficulty she would invariably say, “I ain’t Irish for nothin’ ”, and then get busy tackling the problem at hand. Most problems she did, indeed, tackle: from getting out of a wheelchair due to her life long rheumatoid arthritis (not one, but THREE times), to her never-ending battle to keep her porch swept clean of leaves. Marilyn had a great force of will. (Ask her children.)
Marilyn cooked many delicious meals, taught children, sang lullabies to many grandbabies, read books, was an avid puzzler, dressed well, traveled often, worked hard, acted and sang in community theater, talked easily, laughed often, and gave support to family and friend alike. She opened her heart, her home, and her wallet to help others in need, was the keeper of secrets, and the laugher at jokes (but don’t ask her to tell one).
Marilyn leaves behind a family who learned from her to be hard workers, charitable givers, how to laugh, how to pray, how to fold the towels the “right way”, to not follow the directions when cooking, to be open listeners, how to stretch a buck, how to simmer the spaghetti and goulash all day for the best flavor, how to find the best in yourself by helping others. She will be missed until she wraps us in her wonderful embrace once again
A Rosary will be held at 9:30 am on Monday, October 12, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 503 N. Queen Street, Palestine, TX, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am.
Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, 724 E. Newman St., Palestine.
