Marjorie Christine Bryant Sharman, 87, of Tyler, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2015 in Tyler, Texas. Christine, as all of her friends called her, was born in Olney, Texas on January 6, 1928 to John Alfonzie Bryant and Vera Augusta Vaughn. She spent much of her childhood in Cameron on the family farm where they raised mainly cotton. She also spent time in Tyler, going to Tyler schools and eventually Tyler Jr. College. She was married to Carrol Clinton Sharman, of Lindale in 1947 and resided in Tyler. They were actively involved at Central Baptist Church where Christine was a Sunday school teacher and Bible study leader. They raised two sons, John Carrol Sharman and James Dale Sharman. She loved to travel with friends as well as watch football and cheer on her favorite teams.
Christine was dearly loved by friends and would often have large meals in her home welcoming anyone who wanted a warm meal. She was adored by her sons who called her “Momma” and her grandson, who was always a “grandma’s” boy. Her wisdom and crocheting skills she passed to her granddaughter and loved her title as “great-grandmother” teaching her greats how to read and blow bubbles, and only a little spoiling. Her love for the Lord was also evident in the way she lived and how well she showed her Lord’s love to others.
She is survived by her son John C. Sharman and wife Celita of Tyler; grandson, Micah Sharman and wife Emily; granddaughter Kara Grace and spouse Cody; and great-granddaughter, Claire Grace all of Tyler; brother-in-law Johnny W. Sharman and wife Joyce of Hewitt and Family Hoot and Dorothy Hamman of Overton. She also leaves behind numerous friends who loved her dearly from many walks of her life.
She is predeceased in death by her spouse, Carrol Clinton Sharman; son, Dale Sharman; father and mother, JA and Verna Bryant. She is also rejoicing in Heaven today with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation for friends and family will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from 6 to 8 pm at Lloyd James Funeral Home in Tyler. Graveside services, performed by Reverend David Tarr, will be held the following day, Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 10:30am at Rose Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask to make a memorial donation in her memory to the charity of your choosing.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Hospice of East Texas for their care and comfort and the Waterton assisted living community where she enjoyed living until her recent illness.
