Martha Sue Welch

She was born on December 9, 1939, in Tyler to Aubrey Russell (Tootle) and Dorothy Lonaro Thompson Gaiser. She attended Tyler High School and lived all of her life in Tyler.

Martha touched innumerable lives through her prestigious gospel singing career. She was a member of the Southern Gospel Music association, where she was honored with numerous awards. Martha entertained audiences throughout North East Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas.

Martha is preceded in death by parents, husband of almost 50 years, Travis Drew Welch, sons, Russel (Rusty) Welch and Doyle Allan Welch, sisters Princie Wilbanks and Vivian Ruth Reel.

She is survived by son Stephen Welch Sr. and wife Shelley of Whitehouse, daughter Dyane Garner and husband Doug of Tyler, brothers Jerry Wayne Gaiser and wife Toni of Lindale and Buddy Gaiser of Tyler, grandchildren, Stephen Welch Jr. and wife Heather of Bullard, Stephanie Beall and husband Trey of Bullard, great grandchildren, Lily, Logan, Leah and Linkin Welch and Dru and Anniston Beall all of Bullard, and many cousin, nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends.

A Graveside service for Martha will be Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Center Cemetery with Dr. Stephen Welch Jr. officiating.
