Mary Anne Jarecki, age 97, passed away peacefully May 22, 2024. Born October 20, 1926 in St. Paul, Nebraska into the farm-based family of Charles and Laura (Lora) Miller, Mary Anne was the 2nd youngest, and last survivor of her generation which included 3 older brothers and her 4 sisters. She met her husband to be, Anthony Paul (Tony) Jarecki, shortly after he returned from active WWII service in the Navy. They wed in 1946. They had their first child, Connie, while living in Nebraska, but moved to Wichita, Kansas for Tony to accept a better position with the U.S. Postal Service. There, they had their 2nd child, Mark. In 1965, the family moved to Dallas, Texas, where Tony continued his career. In addition to being a devoted mother and wife, Mary Anne developed her own career with Sears & Roebuck, eventually heading Sears regional employee insurance HQ in Dallas. Both children pursued their educations, including advanced degrees through personal efforts, but with help and encouragement from their parents. It was clear-cut that Mary Anne and Tony wanted their children to have the best of lives. When Tony retired, the couple moved to Lake Palestine, Texas, and Mary Anne continued her career with Sears in Tyler, Texas. Eventually, Mary Anne and Tony moved into Tyler proper; Mary Anne maintained that home 13 years after Tony passed in 2011. Their children still reside in the DFW area, and Connie blessed Mary Anne with 2 grandchildren, Jeff and Jennifer, who in turn have 3 children of their own.
A funeral mass will be held on June 4th at 10:00am at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, located at 423 S. Broadway Ave. in Tyler, Texas. A graveside service will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
