Michael was born in Algoma, Wisconsin on March 18, 1950 to John and Elsie Blahnik. He was raised in Wisconsin and graduated from Kewaskum High School in 1968. After high school, Mike joined the US Air Force and served for 11 years, including serving in the Vietnam War. He then became a technical engineer at Siemens (Nokia).
Mike was preceded in death by his parents Elsie and John Blahnik, brother-in-law Henri Van Hende, aunts, and uncles.
Mike is survived by: children David Blahnik, Dawn Blahnik Barthel, Allison Blahnik, Colleen Blahnik Rubin;
grandsons Alex and Austin Barthel and granddaughter Lillian Mae Schlegel; nieces and nephews; and siblings Thomas (Yun) Blahnik, Judy Van Hende, Suzanne (Chris) Goff, Walter (Connie) Blahnik, and Ann (Robert) Zell.
