

Nadine W. McDonald, age 86, of Troup, passed away in the early afternoon hours of Monday, January 27, 2014 at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital, with her loving family at her side. Nadine was born on December 28, 1927 in Burkburnett, Texas to the late Horace Hubert and Mary Harper Reynolds. She married the love of her life and best friend, John Bridwell McDonald, on April 20, 1945 in Kilgore, Texas. After nearly 69 years of marriage and a lifetime of memories, he survives.
Nadine was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She and John were active members of the Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church. Nadine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend and was the caretaker of her family. She was an avid shopper and loved watching baseball, especially the Texas Rangers. Nadine had the ability to make something out of nothing while crocheting, sewing, or embroidering. She loved collecting porcelain dolls, teddy bears, and especially Barbie dolls. Those who knew Nadine will remember her loving spirit, her tender soul, and the finger she would point as soon as you made her mad.
Nadine is survived by her husband John of Troup; sons, Johnnie Lynn McDonald, and wife Suszett, of Henderson, Dewayne “Tooter” McDonald, and wife Nancy, of Troup, and Terry Mike McDonald, and wife Gayle, of Troup; grandchildren, Kevin, Kim, Kellie, Gary, Andy, John Ray, Jett, April, Matthew, Brandon, Stacey and Stephanie; 24 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister Dolores Deville, and husband Nelson, of Lafayette, Louisiana; longtime care giver, Maria Lezama; and by a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and very special friends.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Sylvia McDonald; one grandson, Jason McDonald; one brother, Robert Wayne Reynolds; and loving uncle and aunt, Jimmie and Orville Toliver.
Funeral services for Nadine W. McDonald will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Lloyd James Funeral Home with Dr. Ron Klingsick officiating. Burial will follow at McDonald Cemetery with Kevin McDonald, Kim McDonald, Kellie McDonald, Gary McDonald, John Ray McDonald, and Brandon Martin serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Martin, Tommy Smith, Richard Covell, and David Domm. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Wednesday evening, at the funeral home.
