

Memorial services for Neal A. Sorensen, 80, of Paris, are scheduled for 1:00 P.M., Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Christian Fellowship Church, 3130 N. Main Street in Paris. Military honors will be observed.
Neal passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, in Tyler.
He was born on December 23, 1934 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Christian Hans and Nellie Charlotte Nielsen Sorensen.
Neal proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 30 years to include tours in Vietnam, Korean War and Cuban Missile Blockade. After retiring from the U.S. Navy as BMC E-7 in 1978, Neal went to college and received his degree in air conditioning and heating. He opened his own business and served the Paris area. Neal also spent many years as a jailor/chief jailor in Lamar and Delta counties.
Neal was a member of Christian Fellowship Church for over 25 years. He now celebrates in Heaven with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, along with many loved ones who went before him.
He is survived by daughters, Debra Lynne Carlson and her husband, Grant William, of Honey Grove and Tammy Owen and her husband, Keith, of Arp; sons, Neal A. Sorensen, II., of Paris and Thomas Henry Sorensen and his wife Judy Dianne, of Brookston; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Neal was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 52 years, Ruth Sorensen and second wife, Wanda Sorensen of 7 ½ years; brother, Robert Sorensen; and sister, Karol Kalvig.
