

Graveside services for Nona Alice Pool, 95, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home, Tyler. The Rev. Pat Mallory of First Baptist Church, Tyler, will officiate.
Mrs. Pool died Feb. 15, 2012, at Park Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Tyler, where she had been a beloved resident since 2004.
She was born on Aug. 15, 1916, in Tyler to the late Luther Lilly and Annie Laurie Byrd Lilly. She grew up in Tyler where she graduated from Tyler High School. She worked at Camp Fannin during World War II and taught at Tyler Commercial College.
Mrs. Pool was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for several years. She was a member of a local garden club, a book club and the Tyler Woman's Forum. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milburn Pool, and her daughter, Patricia Anne Pool.
Survivors include cousins, J. Fred Byrd, of Palestine, Betty Byrd Tinsley, of Jacksonville, and Patricia Byrd Scipioni, of Fairfax, Va.; goddaughter, Nona Susan Fleming, of Tyler; and close, lifelong friend, Kay Bracken, of Tyler.
