Norma Shotts

Norma was born May 29, 1930 in Dodd City, Texas to Oscar and Frances Burkhalter. On September 23, 1949 she married Harold Ray Shotts. they were married 51 years until Harold's passing in 2001.

Norma graduated from Ector High School, Dallas Business School and UTT. She was an accountant for Curtis Mathis and Director of Education for Tyler School of Business. She was known for her quick wit and passion for dancing! She also loved reading, socializing, and golf.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, her parents Oscar and Frances Ford Burkhalter, and her brother Edjuel Ray Burkhalter. She is survived by her niece, Mary Ann Garrett and spouse Robert Garrett, great nephews, Kyle Garrett and Ben Garrett, niece Amy Pace, great nieces Shea Ewing, Alyx Tutt, and Andersyn Pace, niece Debra Priebe and spouse Jon Priebe, great nieces Alicia, Ashley, and Adrian, nephew Eddie Ray Burkhalter, multiple great nieces, great great nieces and nephews and many, many dear friends.

A time of visitation for Norma will be held on December 6, 2024 at 1pm at Lloyd James Funeral Home followed by a chapel service at 2pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Norma's honor to Calvary Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas or Hospice of East Texas. Norma's final resting place will be at Ingram Cemetery in Edom, Texas.
