Services for R. L. “Ray” Alexander, 72, of Hemphill are scheduled for 1:30 P.M., Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Lloyd James Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Gates officiating. Burial will be at Bascom Cemetery under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Mr. Alexander passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2010 in Tyler.
He was born on February 21, 1938 in Texarkana, Arkansas to the late Raymond L. and Opal Hogue Alexander. He was the retired owner of El Toro Restaurant, Ray-Tam Enterprises in Hemphill, Texas. He was a member of the Pentecostal faith and had lived in Hemphill since 1982.
He was preceded in death his first wife, Delores Weaver Alexander and a granddaughter, Amber Dawn Alexander.
Mr. Alexander is survived by his wife Tammy Alexander of Hemphill; daughters, Rachelle Renee’ Bolt and husband Michael of Littleton, Colorado, Lenee’ Alexander of Austin and Melissa Alexander of Austin; sons, Danny Ray Alexander and wife Erin of Tyler, Timothy Wayne Alexander and wife Annie of Cushing, David Alexander and wife Sonya of Dialville, Japhen Alexander of Frisco, Michael Lee Justus Alexander of Hemphill and Austin Justus Alexander of Hemphill; Brothers, Dewayne Alexander and wife Norma of Lubbock, Charlie Alexander and wife, Ruthie of Bullard and Willie Alexander and wife Belinda of Omaha, Nebraska; sisters, Betty Councilman and husband Floyd of Tyler, Katie Fuller and husband Doug of Kilgore and Patsy Alexander of Tyler; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Danny Alexander, David Alexander, Michael Alexander, T. J. Alexander, Daniel Alexander and James Ray Bolt.
The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
