

September 6, 2011 with the family visiting with relatives and friends from 12:30 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. prior to the service at 1:30 P.M. in the chapel of Lloyd James Funeral Home with Tom Cussen officiating.
He was born March 26, 1941 in Winnsboro, Texas to the late Merrill Cleabern Dodgen and Lona Mae Turner Dodgen Adams. He worked in the oil business, nursing business and ran his beloved shooting range.
Mr. Dodgen, in his early years, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling the world with his lovely wife Edna. Building guns gave Bob the opportunity to design the gun used by many of the Texas Rangers. In his latter years Bob’s musical talent emerged. He began to sing and play the guitar producing his own CD. Bob was always there for a friend in need. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and loyal friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Scott Dodgen.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years Edna, son Bret Dodgen of Kingwood, TX., daughter Meredith and her husband Walt Beasley of Humble, TX. , grandchildren Chance Beasley, his wife Lyndsay, Chase Beasley, Kelli Dodgen, and Connor Dodgen, sister Lyle’Luna, her husband Richard, several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces.
