Mrs. Small passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2020. She was born January 18, 1930 in Chandler to the late Jake and Ida Brown. Miss. Brown moved to Tyler as a young woman, set down her roots and made her way. She had worked for Smith County Clerk’s Office in administration and The U.S. Bankruptcy Court in administrative accounting. She loved cooking, gardening, reading and Doting on her family. She was the Matriarch of the family and was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Ida Brown; sisters, Joyce Marie Brown, Hazel Lowry and Nancy Brown ;brothers, John Thomas (J.T.) Brown and Herbert Lee (Bo) Brown; and her husband, John Small.
Ruby leaves behind her daughter, Carla West; granddaughters, Mamie Barden and Cassandra Gonzalez; and three great-grandchildren.
