Services for Ruth B. Wood, 80, of Tyler are scheduled for 1:30 P.M., Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Lloyd James Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Golden officiating. Burial will be at Edom Cemetery.

Mrs. Wood passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 in Tyler

She was born on May 8, 1930 in Van Zandt County near Edom to the late Coy V. and Emily Gandy Butler. She was a graduate of Van High School. She was employed as a dental assistant to Dr. Jim Taylor and Dr. Richard Coker. She was a Baptist and a lifetime resident of the Tyler, Edom area.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Darrell Wood.

She is survived by her son, Gregory Don Wood and wife Tammy of Edom, A. Keith Wood and wife Sharon of Tyler; grandchildren, Jody Callaway, Emily Wood, Joshua Wood, Captain Alan Wood and Michael Wood; sisters, Doris Vines of Chandler, Emma Clayton of Tyler, Betty Williams of Ben Wheeler, Dorothy York of Winnsboro and Carolyn Guthrie of Ben Wheeler; brother, D. R. Butler of Noonday and two great granddaughters.

Pallbearers are Pat Jordon, Jake Hendricks, Doug Callaway, David York, Steve Bennett and Eddie Wood.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P.M., Friday at the funeral home.
