

Funeral services for Sue Adee, 69 of Tyler are scheduled for 1:30pm, Tuesday, January 13, 2015 in Lloyd James Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sherman Mayfield officiating. Burial is in Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Mrs. Adee passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015 in Tyler.
She was born on February 15, 1945 in Omaha, Nebraska to the late Elmer and Helen O’Neal Renker. She moved at an early age to Hobbs, New Mexico where she graduated from High School and married her husband in 1963. She was a member of Lake Tyler Baptist Church and active in Bible Study Fellowship. Sue was in the first Master Gardener class in 1994 and served as its first president for 2 terms from 1994-1996. She was instrumental in creating the “Squirmy Work Recycles” program and in establishing the I.D.E.A. Garden, a multi-functional demonstration garden in the Tyler Rose Garden which in 1999 was awarded the Search for Excellence Award at the International Master Gardener Conference. She volunteered over 4000 hours with Smith County Master Gardeners and mentored every class of incoming Master Gardeners as they work with her in the I.D.E.A. garden and other projects. For several years she aided as an aerobics instructor, was a licensed beautician while helping put her husband through college. She loved camping and fishing but most of all was very dedicated to her family especially the grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, John Adee of Tyler; son Rick Adee and wife Andrea of Troup; daughter Shelly Bledsoe of Tyler; sister Sara Carleton and husband Bob of Lubbock; grandchildren, Christopher Adee and wife Kellie, Jonathon Adee and wife Whitney, Colton Bledsoe and Cason Bledsoe; 4 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Vonda Mecham and husband Gary.
Pallbearers are Chris Adee, Jonathon Adee, Cason Bledsoe, Colton Bledsoe, John Mecham and Robert Lee. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Mecham, Ray Shields, Wayne Bradford and Jerry Mullins.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Monday at Lloyd James Funeral Home.
