Teresa Vitale (nee Rash), age 56, of Cherry Hill, NJ originally from Tyler, TX passed away at home on October 30, 2018. Beloved wife of Tom Vitale. Mother of Andrew, Laura, and Matthew Vitale. Sister of Jeffery (Carolyn) Rash of Tyler, TX. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A 1981 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler, Teresa had an early passion to become a Registered Nurse. At the age of 13, she started as a candy striper at the UT Health System, and eventually graduated from Texas Eastern School of Nursing in 1984. Teresa passed her nursing boards and started a 35+ year nursing career with most time as an operating room nurse in various hospitals across Texas, and the greater Philadelphia region. Nursing was one of the greatest loves of her life.
In addition to her nursing career, Teresa was a devoted wife and mother to her three children and a devout Christian. She was an active member of her church home in Haddonfield, NJ serving over the years as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible teacher, a member of the Altar Guild and pantry coordination. She spent her lifetime in the care and service of others.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:30am at Lloyd James Funeral Home 1011 East First Street Tyler, TX 75701. A graveside will follow immediately at the Cathedral in the Pines 7825 South Broadway Tyler, TX 75703. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations in Teresa’s memory to the Sjogren’s Syndrome Foundation.
