Vivian Darlene Alonzo

Vivian Darlene Alonzo passed away on December 5, 2023. She was born in Kountze,TX. She worked many years as a caretaker for Girling Home Health Care. She was naturally a caretaker at heart so this job was effortless for her. Over the years she formed long lasting friendships with many of her patients and their families. She graciously and courageously fought a 15 year battle with breast cancer. She always kept her faith and gave so selflessly to her family. Whenever she had the opportunity she loved to travel. One of her favorite places to visit was New Hampshire to spend time with her sister. Everything she did centered around her kids, grandkids and great grandson. They all were the joy of her life. She was the guiding light for her family, and enjoyed a special bond with each of her siblings, as well as her nieces and nephews. She truly was a remarkable woman, and will forever be loved and missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Enrico Alonzo and wife, Mayra of Bullard; daughter, Amanda Mauldin and husband, Kevin of Arp; sisters, Marie Jamieson, Anita Marsh and husband, Mike, Dorothy McClain and husband, Frank, Donna Hood; and brother, Ronnie Franks and wife, Stacey. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Mason Mauldin, Kevin Mauldin Jr, Elijah Mauldin, Olivia Mauldin, Lance Alonzo, Isiac Alonzo and Sophia Alonzo; and one great grandson, Jonah Mauldin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Luis Alonzo; her parents, Nellie Jean Franks and Idus Franks; brothers, Marvin Franks and Glen Franks; sisters, Mary Thurman and Lillian Cummings; and a grandson, Ryder Alonzo.

A time of gathering and visitation will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 1-3 p.m. at Lloyd James Funeral Home.
