

Services for William I. Connally, 85, of Tyler are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Lloyd James Funeral Home chapel with Sylvester Matthews officiating. Burial is in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Mr. Connally went to be with the lord on Thursday April 14, 2011 in Tyler.
He was born on February 10, 1926 in Huntsville to the late William S. and Edna Reese Connally. At the age of nine he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and he was a member of First Baptist Church of Tyler. William attended Tyler public schools and graduated from Tyler High School in 1943, Tyler Junior College in 1948 and the University of Texas in 1951. He was a veteran of World War II where he served as an officer in the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was employed by the United States Corps of Engineers for three years, the St. Louis S-W (Cotton Belt) railway for ten years, the Smith County engineer for eleven years and then for Texas Highway Department for sixteen years.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Delma Ward and Winona Connally Ward brothers, James C. Connally and J.T. Connally.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Janice Cullen Connally of Tyler; daughters Dianne Betts of Dallas and Joanne Jaffe and husband James Lawrence of Piedmont, CA, sons and daughters-in-law, William Thomas and Suzie Connally of Carrollton and William Dennis and Anne Connally of Dallas, daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Richard Roberson of Austin; grandchildren, Rachel Jaffe, Stuart Jaffe, Brian Roberson and Russell Roberson; step-daughter, DelMarie Snyder and husband Harold of Tyler; step-son, Neal Moseley and wife Dava of Palestine; step-grandchildren, Elizabeth Packer and husband Jonathan, Rachel Snyder, Ryan Moseley, Austin Moseley and Hunter Moseley; step-great grandchild, Aida Packer; sister, Margaret Neill of Tyler and brother, Walter E. Connally of Amarillo. And numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Thomas Connally, Dennis Connally, Neal Moseley, Gary Ripka, Toby Thompson and Tommy Harley. Honorary pallbearers are Jordon Innerarity and Russell West.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
