

Cheryl C. Nicolich, 76, of West New York, NJ, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Jersey City on February 9, 1946, to the late Anthony and Mary Nicolich, Cheryl was a teacher for 33 years in Newark Archdiocese where she taught at St. John’s in Jersey City, St. Bridget’s in North Bergen, St. Michael’s Grammar School in Union City and finally at Our Lady of Libera in West New York where she spent 26 years until she retired. Known as Miss Cheryl, her other passion was teaching dance. Cheryl took lessons, taught and later partially owned
Hollywood School of Dancing on Bergenline Ave for over 40 years. During her time there, as a student, Cheryl made the Rockettes as a 16 year old but could not join the famed group because her mother Mary would not sign consent papers as a minor. As a teacher and then later a part owner, Cheryl taught hundreds if not thousands of students, Tap, Jazz, Ballet, and Acrobatics throughout Hudson County.
Although her final address was in West New York, Cheryl grew up in Weehawken starting her own family. Later she moved her family to Secaucus where she lived with them for over 20 Years.
Cheryl is survived by her loving sons Anthony Nicolich and Jonathan Federer. Her Daughter-in-law, Lea Ann, her Granddaughter Kayla and her beloved pup Charlie.
Cheryl's Life Celebration will include visitation on Monday, July 18, from 4 to 8 PM at the Leber Funeral Home, 2000 Kennedy Blvd, Union City, NJ. A funeral mass will be offered on Tuesday, July 19, beginning at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Libera 5808 Kennedy Blvd. West New York N.J. Cheryl will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery 340 Ridge Rd. North Arlington N.J. 07031.
