Doris Conlon

Doris Conlon, aged 101 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Sunrise Senior Living in Old Tappan, New Jersey. She was born March 24, 1922, in Weehawken to Christian & Wilhemena Mueller and was the youngest of 4 children.

She had a working career at the Metropolitan Life Insurance, General Electric and finally the law offices of Bauer Bogosian & Whyte as a legal secretary. She was known for sharp-witted remarks and displayed a wonderful knack for creativity at the same time.

Doris was an attractive woman who loved dancing, married her high-school sweetheart, Edward D. Conlon. They were happily married for 70 years. She truly lived life to the fullest, loved parties and spending time with her grandchildren. She had an uncanny ability to reach people, never forgot birthdays, anniversaries, and very punctual, military style. She and her husband (now deceased) were longtime members at Grove Reformed Church where she served in the Ladies’ Aid Society and played an active role in their many other activities. She will be missed immensely by all who knew her. She is survived by two sons, Ed and Dennis, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A visitation for Doris will be held Friday, May 12, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Leber Funeral Home, 2000 Kennedy Blvd, Union City, NJ 07087. A funeral service will occur Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, 2000 Kennedy Blvd, Union City, NJ 07087. A committal service will occur Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Grove Church Cemetery, 46th Street and Kennedy Blvd, North Bergen, NJ 07047.
