George Welch died on January 29, 2007. Born in West New York, he lived in North Bergen for many years. Mr. Welch worked as a Truck Driver for Hemingway Trucking in Jersey City for 25 years before retiring in 1978. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II.
Beloved husband of Phyllis (nee. Cellini). Devoted father of Arlene Festa, Georgiana Bonardi, Diana Welch , Sherri Lee Merlo and the late George Welch Jr. Dear Father in Law of Gerard Bonardi and Robert Merlo. Dear brother of Robert Welch and the late Dorothy Cole. Loving grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral mass will be on Thursday 2/1/07 at 10:30 at St. Rocco Church with the entombment to follow at Fairview Mausoleum. Arrangements under the direction of Leber Funeral Home in Union City, NJ, (201) 863-1100.
