

Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Catherine (née Prezioso); his son, James, and his wife, Tracey; his daughter, Renée Cardaci, and her husband, Michael; and his cherished grandchildren, Nicholas, Vincent, and his wife, Elise, Sophia, Anthony, and Michele. He is also survived by his niece Lynn Hubbard, nephew Richard Hubbard, Aunt Carmela Marchetti, and many cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, James Sr., and Marie Marchetti; his sister, Carol Hubbard; his nieces Cheryl Diehl and Leslie Hubbard Tristram; his in-laws, Louis and Louise Prezioso; and his brother-in-law, Frank Prezioso.
Jimmy was not just a leader, but a mentor to all. He served as the Township Manager of Weehawken for over 25 years contributing significantly to the community and leading numerous projects and initiatives under Mayor Turner. His dual role as Township Manager and Public Safety Director was a testament to his commitment until a new public Safety director could fill the position. He was a passionate supporter of public safety in Weehawken, especially the Police, Fire, and EMS departments. He was always there to help any resident in need and trained many under him, helping to bolster their careers.
In addition to his service as Township Manager, Jimmy was a member of the Weehawken Housing Authority serving as the Chairman of the Senior Citizen/Affordable Housing Agency and the Chairman of the Senior Housing Corporation. He also served as Chairman of the Weehawken Parking Authority. These volunteer positions exemplified Jim’s dedication to the Township.
Prior to his employment with the Township of Weehawken, he worked in private industry where he ascended to Plant Manager with both Coca Cola and Great Bear Water Company.;
Jimmy was also a dedicated member of the Weehawken Elks Lodge 1456 for over 45 years. Where he served as Trustee for many years and was the long-time chairman of the Italian Night dinners, a role he cherished and fulfilled with great pride.
Upon his retirement, Jimmy enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, as well as traveling with the love of his life, Cathy and friends.
Visitation will be held at Leber Funeral Home 1245 Paterson Plank Rd Secaucus, NJ, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday 10/29/24. The funeral mass will follow at Saint Lawrence Church in Weehawken, NJ on Wednesday 10/30/24 at 10:30am. Family and friends are welcome to gather starting at 9:30am. Jimmy will be laid to rest at the Mausoleum at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ.
