John Demuro

was born and raised in North Bergen, the son of Anthony and Josephine DeMuro, and was

predeceased by his brother Anthony, Jr. He graduated from Union Hill High School (Class of

1948) and was a resident of Weehawken for 70 years. He was involved in multiple community

activities and an active member of St. Lawrence Church.

John’s career was in the insurance industry in various capacities. He retired from Metropolitan

Life in the early 90’s.

John’s varied leisure activities included traveling, golfing, supporting the arts, and visiting

friends and family on a regular basis. Most recently, because of his love of singing and

performing, John became a regular at many karaoke venues. He may be best known for greeting

you with a hug, his upbeat outlook, generosity, and his sense of humor.

John was predeceased by his wife of 65 years Lucy DeMuro (nee Bendian). He was the devoted

father of Kristine Creo and husband William and Mary D. Boruch and husband Edward. He was

the loving grandfather of Chelsea Creo and Olivia Boruch.

The funeral service will be held privately at Flower Hill Mausoleum. Donations in his memory
