

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday April 11, 2012 at St.
Joseph of the Palisades in West New York at10:15 AM. Visitation will
be on Monday 7-9 PM and Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Leber Funeral
Home, 2000 Kennedy Blvd., Union City.
He was born February 4, 1931 in Guttenberg, NJ to the late Elizabeth
(Nee: Daley) and Anthony George Habermann.
A long time resident of Guttenberg, he was a graduate of Memorial
High School in West New York and then graduated from Elizabeth Seton
College, NYC, with a B.S.
John is predeceased by his parents, his beloved wife Joan and a sister
Francis Sorensen. He is survived by his son, John Daley Habermann,
a daughter Linda Joan Habermann, a daughter-in-law Shannon
Habermann, a granddaughter Olivia, a brother Anthony George
Habermann and sister-in-law Sylvia Habermann along with numerous
nieces and nephews.
From an early age, John developed a passion for aviation which
eventually led him to become a licensed pilot and flight instructor. In
following his passion, together with his wife and brother, owned and
operated Teterboro Flight Academy. His passion and success ultimately
led to his induction to the New Jersey Aviation Hall of Fame.
He was a proud member of the Hudson County Korean War Veterans
Association, the Quiet Birdmen and the Lakewoods of West New York.
John's sense of humor, compassion and generosity will always be
remembered. He has surely slipped the surly bounds of earth and has
now gone west. R.I.P. Mr Habermann will never be forgotten and
forever loved.
