

Jack O'Connor, beloved Drama and English Literature teacher at Union City High School for 35 years, Passed away suddenly, but peacefully on July 16,2010. Jack was an exemplary Journalism, Drama, Musical Theater, English teacher and Play director, who enriched the lives of his students through theater and the arts. He was given "teacher of the Year Award" for the 2009-2010 school year. He devoted himself to his students. The staff and students mourn his passing, will miss his sense of humor and his unyielding dedication. His unique talents will provide a legacy at Union City High School.
He is survived by his brother, Michael O'Connor, his aunt. Sister Mary Ann O'Connor of Spring Lake, Aunts Ronnie Formosa and Ava Bruni of Fort Lee and Nicholas Ettore of Massachusetts, as well as many cousins. He is the son of the late Florette O'Connor and former commissioner of Union City, the late Jack O'Connor. He graduated from The Newhouse School of Communication, Syracuse University in 1976.
