Juana O. Hernandez

Juana O. Hernandez, 89, of Little Ferry, NJ, passed away on Monday, December 19th, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Havana, Cuba on May 16th, 1933 to the late Tomás Barceló and Herminia Venerio. Odilia, as she was known, along with her husband Martin and their daughters, came from Cuba to the United States 55 years ago. She retired from Eden Toy Company in Jersey City, NJ. Odilia enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family. She was known for her "paella" and listening to "boleros," which reminded her of Cuba. She was very proud of her grandsons and cherished her great-grandson. Odilia was also a long-time supporter of organizations that provide resources to underprivileged children, such as Childfund International.

Survivors include her loving daughters, Mayra Hernandez Lukanyi and Ileana E. Hager, her grandsons, Raymond T. Hager, Jr. and Daniel Senra, his wife, Sarah Cheon and her great-grandson, Mason. Her sisters, Norma Taboada and Rosa Barceló, along with their families.

A funeral mass will be offered on Friday, December 23rd, at 11:00AM at Holy Trinity R.C.C. 34 Maple Ave. Hackensack N.J. 07601.
