Batista, Maria Elena [ nee Jorge ], 70, of Oradell, NJ, formally of Union City. She passed away at her residence with her loving family besides her. Maria was born in Camaguey, Cuba then moved to the United States and settled in Union City, before moving to Oradell.
She was employed by Liz Claiborne, North Bergen as a Sample Cutter for many years. She retired many years ago. She was a CCD Teacher for Religious Studies for St. Augustine RC Church, Union City and worked on retreats for the parish for over 25 years.
She is survived by her loving Husband Carlos, Three [ 3 ] Daughters Maria and Victoria Batista and Vivian Infante, Two [ 2 ] Brothers Francisco and Filiberto Jorge and Two [ 2 ] Grandchildren Elle and Eden.
A Funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at 8:00 AM at the Leber Funeral Home, 2000 Kennedy Boulevard & Corner of 20th Street, Union City, NJ, thence a Funeral Mass will be offered at 9:00 AM at St. Augustine's RC Chruch, Union City, NJ. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 19, 2007 from 2 - 9 PM.
