Marion was born in West New York, NJ on September 29, 1918. She lived in Union City for many years until making Weehawken her home in 1979. Marion worked in the embroidery industry for more than 40 years before retiring in 1990. She enjoyed her retirement years as an active member of the West New York and Weehawken Senior Clubs, and was also a devoted member of Trinity Reformed Church in West New York.
Marion was the beloved wife to the late Gerald H. Eckerson, and was the loving and adored mother to four children, predeceased by daughter, Barbara E. La Bianco and son, David E. Leav; survived by daughters, Lois M. Trunzo and Karen M. Eckerson and son-in-law, Rafael Carrasco.
She was also the cherished grandmother to seven grandchildren, John La Bianco, Baron Leav, Tracey La Bianco, Jessie Leav, Bryan Trunzo, Erika Mauricio and Krista Kaltenbronn; four great-grandchildren, Michael Leav, Meghan Leav, Luke La Bianco and Valentina Mauricio; and two great-great grandchildren, Maverick and Miko Leav.
She is survived by a sister, Agatha Healy, was a cherished aunt to her nieces and nephews, and a devoted friend to many.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, from 1 pm to 5 pm, at Leber's Funeral Home, located at 2000 Kennedy Boulevard in Union City, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in memory of Marion Eckerson, to Trinity Reformed Church in West New York.
There will be a private interment on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Westwood Cemetery, Westwood, NJ
