Rae (Raffae) M. Collins ( nee. Danese), 96, passed away on Tuesday 8/3/10 at her home in North Bergen. She was born in Jersey City and lived there for many years before moving to North Bergen 33 years ago. She worked throughout her life first as a salesperson for Woolworth's on Central Avenue in Jersey City and later as a clerk for Irving Trust Co. in New York City until she retired in 1979. Rae also shared her talents and love for children as a Brownie troop leader (Troop 42) at St. Nicholas Church in Jersey City for over 25 years.
Rae was the beloved wife of the late James P. Collins and the devoted mother of; James P, Collins Jr. and Maureen Collins. She was also the loving grandmother of; Toni Ann Collins, Denese Berone and Tracy Lynn Collins as well as the dear great grandmother of; Peyton Farrel and Emily Rose.
The funeral will be on Saturday 8/7/10 at 10:30am at St. Rocco,s Church in Union City with the interment to follow at Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City. The visitation will be on Friday 8/6/10 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The Leber Funeral Home in Union City is in charge of the arrangements.
