She was born to John and Vivian Taylor on February 4, 1949 in Endicott, New York.
As an Air Force "brat," Aleta lived in Libya, North Africa, Washington State and Western Oklahoma. She attended Burns Flat High School, Oklahoma where she previewed her leadership, athletic and academic abilities.
After graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in design, she secured a job with Sears as a Point of Purchase (POP) display associate. Throughout her life, Aleta played several competitive sports. In her later years she discovered the game of pickleball and soon became an enthusiastic competitor. She remained a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Oklahoma University women's softball team.
Aleta possessed a vibrant, outgoing and caring personality. In addition, she was appreciated for her generous spirit, strong leadership capabilities, and her penchant for a good laugh. She loved her family, her God and her church. Aleta was one of the founding members of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. She served on the pastoral search committee, taught Bible classes and participated in a host of church activities.
