

Arthur "Lee" Ellis passed away on Friday, May 1, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas at 87 years of age. Arthur served 3 years in the United States Army, 17 years in the United States Air Force where he retired as a Master Sergeant and worked 22 years for ST Services where he retired as Vice President of Operations.
Arthur was born on May 7, 1932 to Henry and Hattie (Wells) Ellis in Happy, Texas. Arthur spent his childhood there in Happy until the family relocated to Reedley, California when Arthur was 13.
Arthur served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1953, and then served in the United States Air Force from 1954 until 1971. He was stationed in California, Texas, New Mexico, Nevada, Alaska, as well as France, Germany, and Iceland. During his station at Amarillo Air Force Base, Arthur married Mary Louise Huguley in 1955 and together raised two sons, Charles and Larry. Arthur loved his boys and let them play just as hard as he expected them to work.
In 1986, Arthur married Catherine McNally.
Arthur retired from ST Services in 1993. He enjoyed 27 years of gardening, traveling, family, friendship, watching the occasional football game and enjoying his lifelong passion of fishing.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Hattie (Wells) Ellis; brothers Henry, Donnie and Bobby; sister Lucille; his wife of 29 years, Catherine (McNally) Ellis; and son Charles Lee Ellis.
He is survived by 3 sisters, Mary, Inez and Margaret; his son, Larry Preston Ellis (Melisa); Charles' wife (Linda); grandchildren, Amie Gaylor (Dwayne), Rachel Hernandez (Joshua) and Derek Ellis (Sarah). He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren; Zowie, Kynzlie and Ezra.
