Barbara Faye Moothart peacefully passed away on March 3, 2021 at the age of 90 in her home. She was born to Elsie Byerley Jacob and Ernest Jacob on February 26, 1931 in Minerva, Texas. Barbara graduated from Rockdale High School and from Brackenridge School of Nursing in Austin, Tx. She loved the challenge of being an E.R. nurse which came in handy dealing with the bumps, bruises, and breaks of her children and grandchildren.
She married Jackie Moothart in 1953 in Seguin, Texas and they were married for 67 years. She enjoyed her role as the wife of an Air Force pilot and moved around the country creating “home” wherever they were stationed. She had three daughters, Jacquelyn Reaves, Teresa Brown and Susan Wisenbaker. Grandchildren include: Austin Reaves, Ryan Reaves(Jenni), Marshall Reaves and Lauren Applegate(Mike). “Mimi” as the grandkids named her was a generous and loving grandmother and delighted in finding gifts and treasures for them and sharing in their interests and accomplishments. When she was blessed with two great-grandchildren, Millie Reaves and Eric Applegate, she was overjoyed and cherished every special moment she spent with them.
A skilled seamstress, Barbara specialized in creating unique clothes for her daughters and they even made it into the hometown paper for her exceptional Halloween costumes. She was interested in all things crafty, and in traveling. As avid RV’ers, the family traveled widely across the country.
Memorial service for immediate family will be held Saturday, March 6, at 4:30. Memories and photos can be sent to www.colonialuniversal.com. Burial will be at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
