Barbara Brooks Newell

Barbara was born Sept. 28, 1919 in Evanston, Ill., to Vernon and Helen Brooks.

She is survived by her husband: Colonel Jamieson H.B. Newell, daughter: Bonnie Suzanne Thomas; son:

Bryan Kenneth Newell and his wife Chin Newell; grandchildren Brooks Newell, Cindy Newell, Brandee

Lawther, Eric Newell, Brandy Newell, Brooks Thomas, Brad Hudson, Scot Thomas, Nick Newell, Katie

Newell, Brianna Newell, and Brice Newell; great grandchildren Dillon Newell, Jerrett Martin, Dylan

Reiszner, Noah Reiszner, and Hunter Reiszner; nephews Wayne Brooks and Bradley Brooks, niece

Marcia Brooks Newman and cousin Betty Lou Pelletier. She was preceded in death by a son Brooks

Richard Newell, an infant daughter, brother Vernon Brooks, Jr., son-in-law Dr. Rip Thomas, and a great

grandchild Colton Newell. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association or

Charity of your choice. Interment services were held at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
