It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Brinkman, who went to the Lord on February 15, 2023, at the age of 67. She was born in Biloxi, Mississippi, and was the second daughter of Paul and Yvonne Brinkman. Her father served in the Air Force, so she moved around for the first 15 years of her life. Linda lived all of her adult life in San Antonio, Texas.
At a young age, she was married and had one son, John Valentine. Although her marriage did not last, the love she had for her son was infinite. She would always tell everyone how proud she was of him and how handsome he looked in his Navy uniform.
She attended a vocational school where she was trained in nursing, but prefered working retail. She worked in the H-E-B deli as a manager for 10 years. For several years following, she worked in the gardening department of Home Depot where she developed a passion for gardening. She spent many hours working in her garden.
Linda lived a solitary life but was a dog person and throughout her life she always had at least one dog. Her dog went everywhere with her. She loved music and was a big fan of Willie Nelson. Linda loved to read and was always looking to learn new things.
Linda is survived by her son, John Valentine; her mother, Yvonne Brinkman; her siblings, Julie Garceau, Marcia Brinkman, Paul Brinkman, and David Brinkman; and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Linda's Life will be held on Friday, February 24 at 1:00 pm at Colonial Funeral Home in Universal City, Texas.
Linda was a beloved mother, daughter, sister and friend, and her loss has left a void that will be felt for a long time.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.colonialuniversal.com for the Brinkman family.
