Bettie Ann Rinehart West went home to the Lord on May 28, 2021 at the age of 84. Bettie was born on August 28, 1936 in Ada, Oklahoma to Gus and Bettie Rinehart. Bettie worked at Central National bank every day after school and on Saturdays until she graduated from Enid High School in 1954.
Bettie moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1970. Her career touched multiple industries including Frederick Air Conditioning, Patio Foods and the Lone Star Brewing Company and eventually retiring from the Lone Star Brewing Company as a Materials Coordinator. Bettie and Billy West found each other in 1979 at a Singles Club where great conversation and much in common ignited a spark that would last 40 years. In 1980, Bettie and Billy married at the Sunken Gardens. Bettie loved family vacations, cruises and traveling. Bettie or “Bettie Boop” as Billy endearingly referred to her, enjoyed family game nights, playing the Atari console and boy did she have Pac Man fever. She liked playing her Game Boy, Mahjong on the computer and also joined a Bunco club. In her younger years, Bettie was an avid bowler and became a bowling coach at the young age of 20. Bettie always had a book on her side table and liked reading to unwind from the day, she read just about every Danielle Steel book written, it’s no wonder Ms. Steel is so famous!! In her later years, Bettie enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the birds drinking from their water fountain and eating from the bird feeder. Bettie liked talking to people, you would think she knew them for years. Bettie truly enjoyed her time with her grandchildren. She was affectionately called “Grandma” not only by her family, but by all young folks who knew her. Bettie’s life was filled with love, adventure and success. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will truly be missed by all that knew and loved her. Bettie is preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Bettie Rinehart, sister, Lela Rinehart, son, Kenneth Roberts, son, Richard West and Daughter -in-law Kristi Roberts.
