Sil, I arrived in HRS not long before your retirement. Have many good memories about the people there. Was sorry to see about your loss. Know that there is a great sense of loss. We celebrated our 50th this year, and know how keen such a loss would be. Let your family help you through the days ahead, and give you comfort.

So grateful for the difference Betty Crim made for her family and for the world.

My MeMa taught me to always have a soft robe available to warm up those cold grandchildren
My Mema taught me that Friday's are worth working towards all week
My Mema taught me that if you roll your curls just right, use enough hair spray, and sleep on a satin pillow, you will only have to do your hair on ironing day
My MeMa taught me to wear long sleeves in the sun and always protect your amazing skin
My MeMa taught me you can have beautiful things and the grandchildren won't break them
My MeMa taught me to always be kind, even if others are mean
My MeMa taught me it's perfectly acceptable to be treated like a Princess, as long as you take good care of your Prince
My MeMa taught me there is no finer pleasure than soft tickles
My MeMa taught me that no matter how far away your family goes, there is no happier place than coming by Mema and PePa's house for a visit

But most of all My MeMa taught me to stay humble, loyal, and loving till the end of time!

Mema made me feel special in so many ways.  One thing she always did was tell me how proud she was of me.  Even when I felt so defeated in life.  She always had the most tender touch and her soothing words always brought such peace to my heart.  I've also never had a peanut butter and marshmallow sandwich that could touch hers

Mema  was the purveyor of sweets, both the kind you put in your belly and the kind you put in your heart. She was generous with the hugs and gentle back scratches, and I'm sure pretty much coined the phrase  I will give you 20 minutes to stop that, when we tried to return the affection. She was soft in tone and skin, just like a grandma should be. The aroma of her lotion always made me want to sit closely and share my teenage girl woes. She was polished and pretty, from her bouffant to her red satin shoes; and I always felt like a princess when we got to play dress-up with her  ballroom gloves. I will never forget our many games of Scrabble, and how I was humbled each time we played by her abundent vocabulary and ability to obliterate her opponents. I learned early on, not to underestimate her petite frame and decorous demeanor, because it was home to an immense love. Her generous spirit was such a gift to our family. We were blessed to have her cradle us as babes, until we had babes of our own.  How lucky we all are to have known Memawho's beautiful soul just made Heaven that much brighter.

Col. Crim, Carol, Sterling, Crystal  and your falilies: There are no accidents in God's Kingdom and we were brought together at this moment for a purpose. I am blessed to be part of your lives.

Sil, Betty Jean is physically gone from your life, but she will always be present to you.  As the bible tells us, she will not be in the same form as you last saw her, but I believe you will recognize here.  During the period between now and when you again join her, I pray the lord be with you.
The great thing we know is her suffering is over and she is raised in glory, for eternity.

I was so sorry to read about Betty's passing. Please know that my heart is sad for all in the family. You may feel that the worse possible thing has happened to you - but remember that Betty is experiencing the best possible thing. She was such as beautiful lady, inside and out.
