Born in Monroe, Louisiana September 19, 1923, the youngest child of Johnnie Alvina Peevy and Lannie
Howard Peevy. She is survived by her eldest son, John Robert Goodlett, Jr., her daughter Barbara Ann Goodlett Vasek and son-in-law Larry Gene Vasek, her daughter-in- law Linda Dale Aungst Goodlett, two grandchildren Timothy Ryan Goodlett and wife, Tara and Matthew Wyatt Goodlett and wife, Jessica. She also has six beautiful great grandchildren, Daniel James Goodlett, Wyatt Jeffrey Goodlett, Kaleigh Cheryl Goodlett, Scott Ryan Goodlett, Ryan James Goodlett and Evelyn May Goodlett. She graduated high school in Monroe, Louisiana at the age of sixteen, followed with two years at a community college in Monroe, a branch of Louisiana State University, and then transferred to Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for her third year. During her college years she pledged Kappa Delta Sorority. She completed her college education while Dad was stationed at the Pentagon at American University in Washington D.C. She majored in European History. When war was declared after Pearl Harbor, she and Dad, John Robert Goodlett, Sr (deceased) married in New Orleans on December 12,1942. She was a devoted wife, a true military wife for over 50 years and an awesome mother to John, Jeffrey (deceased) and Barbara.
She was a member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution for twenty-
eight years. She loved to travel covering the United States, Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean. She was an avid reader, an excellent bridge player, loved music and dancing She was a devout Episcopal and raised her three children in this faith. Graveside services and interment will be Monday, March 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. A Memorial service will also be held Monday, March 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Army Residence Community Chapel with a reception to follow at 3:00 p.m.
For all who knew and loved her, she was truly a "Southern Lady".
