Billie Ruth Brumley died April 8, 2013, following a long illness. She is preceded in death by her husband, Col. Robert Brumley who died April 7, 2013; survived by her brother, Bobby Ray Smith and his wife Juanita, of Houston; niece, Doctor Cynthia Adams, her husband Stephen and daughter, Paige of Dallas; niece, Sandra Petta, her husband James and their children, Sarah, Aaron and Ada Leigh, of Corpus Christi. Billie and Colonel Brumley were married in 1999
Born on March 17, 1921 in San Antonio, Billie attended school at Harlendale High School and subsequently worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for more than 40 years, retiring in 1983.
Following their marriage in 1999, Billie and Robert traveled extensively. They were both avid golfers and enjoyed many other activities as well.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Colonial Funeral Home. Graveside service and interment will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 11:15 A.M. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
