

Billie Jean Dean, 92, of Selma, Texas passed away peacefully in her sleep, February 1, 2015. She was born in Ft. Worth, Texas, July 18, 1922. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, two brothers, and her beloved husband of 52 years, Dallas Delbert Dean, Jr. (Dal).
Billie is survived by her sons Dallas Delbert Dean III and wife, Kathy; Ben Louis Dean and wife, Mary; 2 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and her niece, Marian Erlich.
Billie was an expert seamstress and also loved to knit and crochet. An accomplished artist, she painted scenes of her beloved Texas and favorite vacation spots in New Mexico. Billie loved gardening and flowers. She and Dal spent many happy hours in their yard in Selma, where they moved in 1980 from Schertz, Texas. In her 80’s Billie learned to use a computer and her life changed. She loved to send and receive emails and wrote two books about her life, including designing and building a log cabin in New Mexico with Dal and son Ben.
Graveside services to be held at 2 o’clock Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park, New Braunfels, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Christus VNA Hospice and Palliative Care, 4241 Woodcock Dr., Suite A-100, San Antonio, TX 78228.
