Clarence Edward Morgan

Msgt. Clarence Edward Morgan, age 77, of San Antonio,Texas, gained his wings on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Brooke Army Medical Center surrounded by his Brothers in Arms in 3T ICU and his loving wife and two sons at his bedside. The BAMC staff recognized his life with an Honor Walk and Taps.

Clarence was born in Detroit, Michigan to parents, James Morgan & Clara Butler on September 9, 1948.

In his early life, Clarence was educated in the Detroit Public School System and graduated from Samuel C. Mumford High School in 1966.

Straight after high school, Clarence enlisted in the military where he earned many accolades throughout his career. From October 24, 1966 to July 14, 1970, he was a Navy Corpsman and a Fleet Marine Force U.S. Hospital Corpsman. Clarence then was Navy Honorable and Air Force Honorable from May 13, 1971 to July 31, 1988. After that, Clarence collected various titles such as, Medical Service Technician, Medical Service Technician (Aircrew), and Master Loader and Crew Chief of C-130. Years of dedication led him to retire officially as Msgt. Clarence Edward Morgan.

After a memorable Military career, Clarence applied and graduated from St. Phillips College for Associate of Applied Science Automotive Technology. He then held many jobs such as working as an automotive mechanic or for the Texas Criminal Justice Prison System. Clarence even went back to his military roots and worked for the U.S. Army Lodging. No matter what job he worked, Clarence left a lasting impression.

Clarence leaves behind to honor his legacy, his adoring wife of 48 years, Arlene Morgan (Wife); Sons: Eric Morgan and Ross Morgan; Sister: Mary Hollis Donald; Nephew: Gregory Donald II; and Nieces: Donyale Abe and Shaeehea Hollis.

Clarence also leaves behind a host of loving family from his wife, Arlene, including: Brother-in-law: Isidro Delaraga, Leo Delaraga, Adonis Delaraga, and Reynaldo Delaraga; Sister-in-law: Myrla Delaraga and Maryann Delaraga; Nephews: Paul Magtules, Marc Edyson Delaraga, Jhon Ed Kurt Delaraga, Brendon Delaraga, Carlos Dionzon; and Nieces: Irene Dionzon, Irish Magtules, Juliepearl Knowles.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Sgt. James William Morgan.

Clarence was cared for in his private home with his family. He will always be remembered as a generous and joyful spirit despite all of his hard times. We thank Msgt. Clarence Morgan for his service and sacrifice. He will never be forgotten and he will remain forever in our hearts.
