

Clark "Buck" Hoover Blake, a cherished father, brother, and friend, peacefully joined our Lord on July 1, 2024. Born on October 29, 1932, in Charleston, West Virginia, to Clark and Eva Blake, he lived a life of dedication, service, and boundless love.
Buck's unwavering commitment to his country was evident in his proud service with the US Air Force, where he played a significant role during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1969, notably participating in the historic Tet Offensive Battles. His exceptional service earned him one of the highest honors from the Strategic Air Command (SAC) while stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.
After 23 years of distinguished military service, he retired with the esteemed rank of Master Sergeant. Buck's dedication continued as he embarked on a second career, serving his community with the Civil Service in Anchorage, Alaska.
Buck's legacy lives on through his loving family: his brother, Jim Blake, and sister, Glenna Blake Muthard; his children, Dennis Blake, Carol Robinson, Deborah Blake, and Lisa Vogelgesang; and his five grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He now reunites in eternal peace with his beloved spouses, Betty Blake, the devoted mother of his children, and Sue Blake, along with his brothers, Edward and Wesley Blake, and his sister, Phyllis Rucker.
Clark "Buck" Hoover Blake touched countless lives with his warmth, strength, and unwavering spirit. His legacy is love, dedication, and unyielding commitment to his family and country.
We invite family, friends, and all whose lives were graced by Buck to celebrate his remarkable life. Services begin on July 26, 2024, at 9:30 am at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Rd, Universal City, Texas. Following the service, a Committal Service will take place from 11:30 am to 11:50 am at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas, where Buck will be laid to rest with full military honors.
As we honor Buck's memory, we celebrate a life well-lived and the indelible mark he left on all who knew him.
