Lt. Colonel Clifford Alton Stevens (Ret). passed away on April 30, 2013 at the age of 94. He was born on March 29, 1919 in Lincoln, Maine to Harry and Dorothy “Ayer” Stevens. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife, Mary Lynn Victory Stevens, and three brothers, David, Joe and Galen Stevens; survived by his daughters, Lynn Stevens and Nancy (Steve) Verses; son, Alan Stevens; grandsons, Matthew Verses and Jeff (Laura) Verses; great-granddaughter, Julia Elizabeth Verses; and his 2nd wife of 21 Years, Nelle Preston Stevens. Clifford graduated from the University of Maine, He was a Army Air Corps.B29 pilot WWII in the Pacific Theater. A memorial service will be held at the Army Residence Community Center Chapel Monday, May 13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. A private burial will be at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
