

Senior Master Sergeant David Oscar Crockett U.S. Air Force (Ret.) went to be with the Lord June 26, 2016 at the age of 68. He is preceded in death by his father James Oscar Crockett. Mr. Crockett was born June 21, 1948 in Jamestown, Tennessee to James Oscar and Pearlie (Tipton) Crockett and raised in Muncie, IN.
SMSgt. Crockett spent many wonderful years in the United States Air Force, retiring in June of 1990. During his military career, he received the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, NCO Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon with one oak leaf cluster, AF Longevity Service Award Ribbon with four oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, AF Outstanding Unit Award with three oak leaf clusters, AF Organizational Excellence Award, Air Force Good conduct Medal with six oak leaf clusters AF Overseas Service Long Tour Ribbon, AF Overseas Service Short Tour Ribbon, AF Training Ribbon, AF Commendation Medal, and the Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters.
In December 1990, he graduated from Southwest Texas University with a Bachelor’s Degree of Applied Arts in Sciences. After he retired from the Air Force, he worked as a contractor for Lockheed Martin as a Task Leader/ Senior Software Developer Analyst for 20+ years and fully retired in January of 2016. He was also a member of the Randolph Masonic Lodge 1268.
A beloved and cherished husband, father and papa, this devoted Christian man will be sorely missed. David is survived by his wife Marilyn Kay Crockett of 46 Years, daughter: Stefanie Ann Hansard (Crockett) and her husband Christopher Layne Hansard Petty Officer 1st Class U.S. Navy; son: Christopher David Crockett and his wife Lindsey Korsos Crockett; grandchildren: Joseph David Hansard, Raegann Layne Hansard, Ramsey Louise Crockett and Cameron Korsos Crockett; mother: Pearlie V. Crockett; siblings: Peggy Crockett, Jimmy Crockett, Betty Carter, Mary Sleezer, Pam French, Victor Crockett, Don Crockett, Tim Crockett and Leslie Smith; 16 nieces and nephews; 18 great nieces and nephews; 1 great great nephew; 3 sister-in-law’s and 3 brother-in-law’s.
