David Emory Dixon Jr.

David E. Dixon, 85, from San Antonio Tx, passed suddenly on December 3, 2021 at Methodist E.R. from natural causes. He was born June 1st 1936 in Stone Mountain, Georgia. He attended many schools from elementary through high school, then attended San Angelo Junior College for 2 years. He met his beautiful wife, Voleta at college, they married September 28, 1957. David worked 46 years in finance management. His hard work led him to Branch Manager where he was able to retire in 2003. He belonged to the Toastmasters Club, Lions Club, and Tricity Junior Athletic League where he served as Vice President. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and camping. He was very athletic and enjoyed playing tennis, basketball, golf, softball, racquetball and many card, board, and domino games. David was a very involved dad, granddad and great-granddad who loved teaching, coaching, and playing with all of his family.

He is survived by his wife Voleta M. Dixon, of San Antonio, Tx, daughters Debbie Meyer and husband Tim Meyer, Diana Pogue and husband Chris Pogue, 7 grandchildren, Dustin, Clayton, Ryan, Kelsey, Jeremy, Tara and Logan, and 7 great grandchildren Raychel, Hailey, Lexi, Addison, Brock, Lucas, and Wesley. Memorials may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital or Wounded Warriors.

A visitation for David will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Wetmore Community Cemetery, 15041 Higgins Rd., San Antonio, TX 78217.
