Deana Renee (Ronyak) Davidson, 57, from San Antonio, TX passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021, from complications from a Stage 4 Cancer diagnosis.

A resident of San Antonio since 1977, Deana graduated from Judson High School in Converse, TX, Class of 1982. She had lived in both Florida and Virginia for a time before settling back down in Texas to be close to family. Deana was the epitome of the phrase “humble and kind”. She genuinely cared about people and made a life of giving back to the community by helping the homeless with shelter, food, and clothing. In addition to her humanitarian efforts, Deana had a green thumb and was meticulous about tending to her many flowering bushes, various plants, and a single blueberry bush (even while coping with her illness, she was joyful to be able to pick and freeze a handful of blueberries a week prior to her death). She also enjoyed crafting projects and creating floral arrangements for family and friends. Although she was deaf in her right ear, Deana worked hard to be a good listener and often, no matter what the circumstance, her witty response would result in a chuckle or a smile. Her loving heart will be missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Caitlyn C. Davidson (fiancé Rex Willingham) and grandchildren, Isabelle Kishur, Lakota and Aspen Willingham; her son, T. Joshua Davidson (Amanda); her granddaughter Brooklyn R. Davidson (daughter of Jeremy) and preceded in death by her youngest son, Jeremy E. Davidson. She is also survived by her mother, Sandra J. Jaksha; her father, Dennis E. Ronyak (Anne); her sisters Dawn D. Perkins (Ronny) and Denise C. Zvi (Yehudah). She is preceded in death by her brother Garry A. Ronyak.

Visitation for Deana will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148 (www.colonialuniversal.com). A Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Carl R. Sellent (her uncle from San Diego, CA) officiating. Light refreshments and fellowship to follow service. You are encouraged to leave a message for her loved ones on the Portal (www.dignitymemorial.com), which will be a keepsake for her family. Please use discretion regarding facemasks, distancing, and general health.

I love you Deana. You were one of the best friends I had on this Earth and got me through the toughest time of my life. Your friendship meant everything to me. Anytime I needed you, you were there. I wish there was more time. I still can't believe you are gone. There are no words that can say how much you meant to me and how much you will be missed. I love you my sweet friend.

She introduced me to what would become my favorite band of my teenage years. One day, when I was 10 years old, she was playing a cassette tape from a band named Hanson. I immediately fell in love. She let me listen to her tape all weekend. At one point, I went to give her the tape back, and she just smiled and said I could borrow it longer. She knew I was listening to it nonstop. On a cross country road trip to North Dakota, I was really into word find and crossword books, and when we stopped for gas, she bought me a new one. I have so many other memories of her kindness and giving heart. It’s all the little things that I will always remember; her smile, her sense of humor, her kindness, her laugh (I can still hear her laugh). I will treasure these memories of her, and I’m so sad that she is gone.

I know I will always remember the sound of her laugh. She taught me to be brave, to stand up for the people I love, and to never give up on my dreams. She was technically my step sister but I always looked up to her as much more. Above all, she was a fierce protector. I admired her more than I can ever express, and will miss her dearly. Rest In Peace, Deana.

I've only met her a few times but she always had a smile on her face.I know now she is dancing with her baby boy. Life will be hard for everyone but just know your never alone anymore . My prayers are with all of the family members.

I am so sorry to Deana’s entire family for the loss of her. I have many memories of spending time on the farm in ND with her and all the cousins. She had an infectious laugh and was so witty with her responses to things. Such a spitfire of a girl! I can just hear her! Lol! Gone way too soon. 😢 I’m sure she’s having a good old time in heaven with Jeremy, Garry, her uncle Roger and Grandpa Elroy. I wish I could be there for the funeral. Know that I am thinking of you all in these difficult times. Hugs and prayers to you all. 🙏 ❤️❤️❤️ Love from MN!
Your cousin, Brenda
