Dennis Clark Blake, a cherished brother, friend, uncle, and great-uncle, peacefully joined our Lord on September 28, 2026. Born on May 15, 1958, at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas, to Clark Hoover and Betty Carol Blake. Dennis lived a life filled with adventure, loyalty, laughter, and an abiding love for his family and friends.
Dennis honored his country through his service in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he built a life and career of his own, opening DBug Pest Control and proudly serving San Antonio and the surrounding communities. Dennis was loved by his clients, many of whom became lifelong friends—a reflection of the kind of person he was and the lasting impression he left on those he met.
For those who had the honor of knowing Dennis, they knew he was truly larger than life. He had an adventurous spirit and a love for anything that brought a little excitement. He loved fast cars, fishing, hunting, dirt bikes, and flying and racing remote-controlled planes and cars with his friends. Dennis embraced life fully, and wherever he went, there was rarely a shortage of stories, laughter, or adventure.
But for all the things Dennis loved to do, he took the greatest pride in the things that mattered most: his family and the people he loved. He faithfully looked after his parents and was a loving and protective big brother to his sisters. Dennis was someone you could count on. He stood beside the people he loved, protected them fiercely, and had a presence that brought strength, laughter, and a sense that everything was going to be all right.
Dennis's legacy lives on through his loving sisters, Carol Robinson, Deborah Blake, and Lisa Vogelgesang, along with his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and the many close friends whose lives he touched.
He now reunites in eternal peace with the love of his life, Michelle Blake; his loving parents, Clark Hoover and Betty Carol Blake; and his brother, Clark Douglas Blake.
Dennis was truly one of a kind, and there will never be another quite like him. We will miss his laugh, his stories, his adventurous spirit, his unwavering love for the people closest to him, and most of all, the comfort of simply having him by our side.
We invite family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Dennis to celebrate his remarkable life.
Visitation and a time for sharing memories will begin Friday, October 30, 2026, at 11:00 am with services to follow thirty minutes later at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148.
Following the service, a police escorted procession will depart to
Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd.
San Antonio, Texas 78209
There, committal services and military honors beginning at 1:30pm will be held for both Dennis and Michelle Blake, who will be laid to rest together.
As we honor Dennis's memory, we celebrate a life lived boldly, a man who loved deeply, and the countless memories he leaves behind. Together, Dennis and Michelle will remain forever in our hearts.
