With deep love and a broken-heart, we announce the passing of Diana Baldassari, 82, of Universal City, Texas, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who entered the gates of Heaven on August 8, 2026.
Diana was born in Meridien, Mississippi to the late John Clinton Walls and Kathleen (Robertson) Andrews on July 22, 1944. She died peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family.
She was married for 58 years to her loving husband Ronald Baldassari. Being married to a military husband, she was a strong supporter of her husband’s military career and was used to often moving from military base to military base. She was a super-mom always making sure that her two boys had an easy transition with every move that the family made over Ron’s twenty-one-year military career. She always made sure their two sons, Robert and Matthew, got involved with local activities and made friends, so their early childhood years experienced the love of the family and minimum disruption.
She worked 30 years for the federal government as a Civil Service employee with the Department of the Air Force and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
She enjoyed sewing, reading, playing Bridge and Mahjong, the challenges playing computer games, volunteering with the Officer’ Wives’ Club, and all the while maintaining a pristine home.
Diana leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband Ronald Baldassari, her sons Robert Baldassari and his wife Janice of San Antonio, Texas, and Matthew Baldassari and his wife Jessica of Schertz, Texas, her four grandchildren, Zachary, Gabrielle, Dominic and Sydney. She also leaves behind her sister Kay Patlan of Carthage, Texas, her two brothers Gari Bellis of Gilmer, Texas, John Walls and his wife Bebe of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, her sister-in-law Joanne Baldassari of Ft. Myers, Florida, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jean and Jerry Sheehy of Coto de Caza, California, and many nieces and nephews.
The Baldassari family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Vitas Health Care for your exceptional dedication and compassionate care for the short period Diana was on hospice.
Burial services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org in Diana’s memory.
